Yak hair! One of my favorite materials to tie with! At 12”-14” yak can be used for any pattern at any size! Yak is a medium stiff kinky fiber. It moves a lot in the water but do to its stiffness it doesn’t foul on 12”-14” flies! The amount of material needed is small so yak is one of the easiest materials to cast with when throwing large flys, and goes along way on the bench. It sheds water quick,turns over easy, and is extremely durable! All around an absolute fantastic material to have in the arsenal!
